About the client

The official chapter of Women in Tech Global—a worldwide movement active in over 60 countries and uniting more than 250,000 members. Launched in 2024, the Uzbekistan branch has rapidly grown into a vibrant volunteer-led community with nearly 5,000 members and around 30 active volunteers.

Specifics

  • The need for a modular, scalable design system that aligns with Women in Tech Global brand guidelines while incorporating local identity elements

  • Templates had to be intuitive and editable directly in Figma to support the smooth onboarding of new volunteers

  • Content categories and types needed to be clearly structured for Instagram, Telegram, and LinkedIn

  • A fully volunteer-driven team with varying levels of design experience

Situation at the start

The client lacked a unified design system or template library, resulting in inconsistency across platforms and content types. Individual designers faced a high operational load, while frequent volunteer turnover required fast onboarding.

Project objectives

  • Build a comprehensive design system for social media aligned with Women in Tech Global guidelines

  • Develop category-based templates covering the full range of community content

  • Ensure templates are easy to edit and scalable for a rotating team of volunteers

  • Strengthen brand consistency and recognition for the Uzbekistan chapter

Client's case

We developed a comprehensive design system in Figma, optimized for collaborative work by non-professional designers. It was structured for ease of use, visual consistency, and team autonomy. The templates cover key content categories including announcements, events, quotes, partnerships, volunteer calls, interviews, and more.

Our team successfully preserved global branding standards while integrating elements of Uzbek design aesthetics and localization. We also prioritized multilingual accessibility and cross-platform compatibility.

Final outcome

The Women in Tech Uzbekistan team now uses this ready-to-use social media design system daily across three main platforms: Instagram, Telegram, and LinkedIn. Volunteers without design experience can easily create content. Over 100 posts have already been produced with these new templates.

Global HQ praised the system for both brand alignment and local uniqueness. Community visibility and engagement have steadily increased, alongside marked improvements in post quality and consistency.

"Working with WE2 helped us address multiple challenges at once—we now have a design system that’s both brand-compliant and tailored to the needs of our local, volunteer-based team. It has significantly reduced the workload for individual contributors and given our community a stronger, more recognizable online presence."
